Role: Senior Sales Manager

Location: North Shields, Newcastle

Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 base + car allowance + bonus/commission

Role Overview

As a Senior Sales Manager within my client’s Training Services, you are responsible for delivering revenue growth across a portfolio of key B2B clients and developing new business opportunities.

You will lead client engagement at a senior level, identifying and converting high-value opportunities across their portfolio. The role combines strong account development with proactive business development, with a focus on pipeline generation, opportunity progression and revenue delivery.

Success in the role is measured against KPIs/metrics including:

  • Strong pipeline coverage
  • Conversion of high-value opportunities into revenue
  • Growth across key accounts
  • Delivery of multi-service opportunities
  • New client acquisition

Scope

  • Deliver against personal revenue targets aligned to their Training Services budgets
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of opportunities across existing and new clients
  • Identify, develop and convert high-value opportunities across the portfolio
  • Develop key accounts to increase revenue and client engagement
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders within client organisations
  • Develop and execute account plans aligned to sales targets
  • Collaborate with product specialists and wider teams to deliver client solutions
  • Generate leads for wider services and refer to relevant specialists
  • Maintain accurate CRM records (pipeline, activity, forecasting)
  • Provide clear updates on pipeline, performance, and risks

Person Specification

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience in a target-driven B2B sales role within energy, training or related sectors
  • Strong track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
  • Experience closing high-value or complex sales opportunities
  • Strong commercial awareness, including pricing and value-based selling
  • Experience engaging with senior decision-makers
  • Ability to identify and develop opportunities through proactive client engagement
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and structured pipeline management
  • Self-motivated and able to operate with accountability

Desirable Criteria:

  • Understanding of training, compliance, or workforce development needs
  • Familiarity with LMS or training systems
  • Awareness of relevant industry standards or regulations
  • Highly organised / meets deadlines.
    • Ability to remain calm and be assertive during busy periods or when dealing with challenging situations
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Flexible to travel as required
  • Maintains a professional approach in line with company standards
